OICL AO 2025 Eligibility Criteria:

Nationality:

  • (i) a Citizen of India or, (ii) a subject of Nepal or, (iii) a subject of Bhutan or (iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

Educational Qualification

  • The educational qualification required by the candidates varies by discipline, and the same has been mentioned below.
    • Accounts: B. Com with 60% marks (55% for SC/ST), MBA, or CA/ICWAI.
    • Actuarial: Bachelor's in Statistics/Mathematics/Actuarial Science with 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) or equivalent.
    • Engineering (IT): B.E./B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech in IT/Computer Science/ECE or MCA with 60% (55% for SC/ST).
    • Engineering (Automobile/Mechanical/Electrical/Civil/Chemical/Power/Industrial/Instrumentation): B.E./B.Tech or M.E/M.Tech in the relevant field with 60% marks (55% for SC/ST).
    • Medical: MBBS/BDS from a recognized university.
    • Legal: Graduate in Law with 60% marks (55% for SC/ST).

Age limit

  • Candidates need to be at a certain age to be eligible to apply for the OICL AO Recruitment 2025. To be eligible, candidates must have a minimum age of 21 years and a maximum age of 30 years.

Application Fee

  • UR / EWS: ₹ 2000 (Group A) and ₹ 1500 (Group B)
  • SEBC / SC / ST: ₹ 1500 (Group A) and ₹ 1000 (Group B)
  • PwBD: ₹ 750 (Group A) and ₹ 750 (Group B)
  • The fee is non-refundable /non-transferable in any case.

  • The Part B and Part C of examination shall be common for the candidates of all the streams. There will be penalty for wrong answers marked (in objective tests) by the candidates. For each wrong answer ¼ of the marks assigned to the question will be deducted from those obtained. Tests will be bilingual i.e. English and Hindi except test of English Language. The minimum qualifying marks would be applicable on the total score of online examination.
  • The Descriptive English Test will be conducted only through online mode. Questions will be displayed on the screen of your computer. Answers are to be typed using the keyboard in English. Before start of typing answers to questions in Descriptive Paper, please check all key functions of the keyboard. 
  • Total test timing 150 minutes. 30 minutes for PART A- Objective, 60 minutes for Part B objective and 60 minutes for Part C (descriptive). Candidates will be shortlisted for Group Discussion and interview on the basis of overall marks scored in objective and descriptive section taken together against full marks of 150 and the minimum qualifying marks for online examination is 60%.

NICL AO Eligibility Criteria 

  • Educational Qualification: A candidate must possess the minimum qualification of M.B.B.S / M.D. / M.S. or PG-Medical Degree from a recognized University with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree (at least 55% marks for SC/ST/PWD candidates); or equivalent foreign degrees which are recognized as such by the Medical council of India with the prescribed benchmark. NICL AO Selection Procedure

  • Adequate number of candidates as decided by the Company will be shortlisted based on their qualification, experience and overall suitability for Interview. The qualifying marks in Interview will be as decided by the Company. Merit list for selection will be prepared in descending order on the basis of scores obtained in Interview only. In case more than one candidate score the cut off marks [common mark at cut off point], such candidates will be ranked according to their age in descending order. Further, if the date of birth is also same, the candidate with higher marks in qualifying degree will be considered.
  • Outstation candidates called for Interview will be reimbursed to and fro AC second class rail fare/bus fare by the shortest route from the station of residence to the place of Interview on production of evidence of having undertaken journey for interview purpose.

Exam pattern & Syllabus

  • Phase-I: Preliminary Examination: Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Tests for 100 marks will be conducted online. This test would be of 1 hour duration consisting of 3 sections as follows: 
    • English language: 30 Marks
    • Reasoning Ability: 35 Marks
    • Quantitative Aptitude: 35 Marks
    • Total: 100 Marks
    • Total Time: 1 Hour
  • Candidates have to qualify in each test by securing passing marks to be decided by the Company. Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by the Company (approximately 20 times the numbers of vacancies subject to availability) will be shortlisted for the Main Examination.
  • Phase – II: Main Examination: Main Examination will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 30 marks. Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests will be online. Candidates will have to answer Descriptive Test by typing on the computer. Immediately after completion of Objective Test, Descriptive Test will be administered.
    • Objective Test: The Objective Test of 2 hours duration consists of 4 sections (Generalists) and 5 sections (Specialists) for total 200 marks.
      • For Generalists:
        • Test of Reasoning Ability: 50 Marks
        • Test of English Language: 50 Marks
        • Test of General Awareness: 50 Marks
        • Test of Quantitative Aptitude: 50 Marks
        • Total (Aggregate): 200 Marks
        • Duration: 120 Minutes
      • For Specialists:
        • Test of Reasoning Ability: 40 Marks
        • Test of English Language: 40 Marks
        • Test of General Awareness: 40 Marks
        • Test of Quantitative Aptitude: 40 Marks
        • Test of Professional Knowledge: 40 Marks
        • Total (Aggregate): 200 Marks
        • Duration: 120 Minutes
    • Descriptive Test: The Descriptive Test of 30 minutes duration with 30 marks will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing-10 marks & Essay-20 marks). The descriptive test will be in English and will be conducted through on-line mode.
    • Phase – III: Interview: Candidates who have been shortlisted at the end of Phase-II will subsequently be called for an Interview to be conducted by the Company, up to three times the number of vacancies of respective stream/category. Interview will be conducted at select centres. The weightage (ratio) of online Examination and Interview will be 80:20 respectively.

  • Preliminary Examination: On-line Objective Test for 100 marks, would be of ONE Hour duration and will consist of 3 sections as follows:
    • Test of English Language: 30 Questions & 30 Marks
    • Test of Reasoning: 35 Questions & 35 Marks
    • Test of Numerical Ability: 35 Questions & 35 Marks
    • Total Marks: 100 Questions & 100 Marks
  • The questions in objective tests, except for the test of English Language, will be made available in English and Hindi. Candidates will have to qualify in each test by securing the minimum qualification marks as decided by the Company. Adequate number of candidates State-wise and Category-wise equal to 7 times of the respective number of vacancies will be shortlisted for Tier-II - Main Examination.

  • Phase - I On-line Preliminary Examination (Objective Type) will be for 160 marks with four Tests as under:
    • Test of Reasoning: 40 Questions & 40 marks
    • Test of English Language: 40 Questions & 40 marks
    • Test of General Awareness: 40 Questions & 40 marks
    • Test of Quantitative Aptitude: 40 Questions & 40 marks
    • Total: 160 Questions & 160 marks
    • Time during: Composite time of 90 minutes
  • Phase - II Descriptive
    • Paper-I: English: 100 Marks & 60 Minutes
    • Paper-II: Economic and Social Issues impacting Insurance: 100 Marks & 60 Minutes
    • Paper-III: Insurance and Management: 100 Marks & 60 Minutes
    • Type of Paper: Descriptive (question papers displayed on computer and to be written using pen and paper)
  • Phase - III: Interview
Note: There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective Tests. 1/4th mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. (The scores of Phase – I On-line Preliminary Examination)

Eligibility 

  • Educational qualification: Candidate should possess certificate in proof of passing the qualifying examination (as on 20/04/2017). A candidate must possess the minimum qualification of a Graduate/Post Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University OR any equivalent qualification recognized as such by Central Government with at least 60% marks in either of the degree examination (at least 55% for SC/ST) candidates.
  • Note:
    • Qualification mentioned above should be from any of the recognized Indian Universities duly approved by the UGC or any of the recognized Indian Institutes duly approved by AICTE.
    • The candidate must possess valid Mark-sheet / Degree Certificate of the necessary qualification as on 20.04.2017.
    • The percentage marks shall be arrived at by dividing the total marks obtained by the candidate in all the subjects in all semester(s)/year(s) by aggregate maximum marks in all the subjects irrespective of honours/optional/additional optional subject, if any. This will be applicable for those Universities also where Class/Grade is decided on basis of Honours marks only. The fraction of percentage so arrived will be ignored i.e. 59.99% will be treated as less than 60%. 
    • Where CGPA/OGPA are awarded, the candidate will have to produce a certificate issued by the appropriate authority inter alia stating the norms of the University regarding conversion of grade into percentage and the percentage of marks scored by the candidate in terms of norms.
  • Age limit: 21 to 30 years (as on 01/03/2017) [i.e. a candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.03.1987 and not later than 01.03.1996 (both dates inclusive).]
  • Application Fee: Rs. 600/- (Application fee including intimation charges) & Rs. 100/- (Intimation Charges Only). Payable on-line from 30/03/2017 to 20/04/2017 (both dates inclusive).

    • Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Tests for 100 marks will be conducted online. This test would be of 60 minutes duration consisting of 3 sections as follows:

  • Phase – II : Main Examination:
    • Main Examination will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 30 Marks. Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests will be online. Candidates will have to answer Descriptive Test by typing on the computer. Immediately after completion of Objective Test, Descriptive Test will be administered.
    • Objective Test : The Objective Test of 2 hours duration consists of 5 sections for total 200 Marks
      • Reasoning: 40 Marks
      • English Language: 40 Marks
      • General Awareness: 40 Marks
      • Computer Knowledge: 40 Marks
      • Quantitative aptitude: 40 Marks
      • Total Marks: 200
      • Total time: 120 Minutes
    • English Language (Essay, Precis and Comprehension) (Descriptive): 30 Marks (30 mins.)
  • Descriptive Test: the Descriptive Test of 30 Minutes duration with 30 marks will be a Test of English Language (Essay, Precis and Comprehension). The descriptive test will be in English and will be conducted through on line mode.
  • Note: Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score for each section of objective test separately for short listing for the Descriptive Test evaluation/Interview i.e. Descriptive answer script would be evaluated only in respect of those candidates who qualify the objective test. There will also be a separate cut-off marks for the Descriptive Test.
