  • The Test will consist of two papers. Both the papers will consist of objective type, multiple choice questions. There will be no break between papers.
    • Paper - 1: The questions in Paper I intends to assess the teaching/ research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, reading comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate, with 100 marks & 50 questions and 3 hours (180 minutes) duration without any break.
    • Paper - 2: This is based on the subject selected by the candidate and will assess domain knowledge, with 200 marks & 100 questions and 3 hours (180 minutes) duration without any break.

    • A Master's Degree in Economics / Econometrics / Quantitative Economics / Mathematical Economics / Integrated Economics Course/ Finance, with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognised Indian or Foreign University /Institute.     • (i) Candidates having Master's Degree with Research/Teaching experience at a recognized Indian/Foreign University/ Institute will be eligible for relaxation in upper age limit to the extent of number of years of such experience subject to a maximum of three years.   • Officers in Grade 'B' (DR) - DSIM:
    • A Master's Degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Mathematical Economics/ Econometrics/ Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Kharagpur/ Applied Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Bombay with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years. OR  M. Stat. Degree of Indian Statistical Institute with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate of all semesters/years. OR  Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) jointly offered by ISI Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur and IIM Calcutta with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years.

Age limit

  • RBI has defined minimum age criteria for appearing in the RBI Officer (Grade ‘B’) examination. Candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30, i.e., he/she must have been born not earlier than September 02, 1996, and not later than September 01, 2005, to apply for RBI Grade B Exam 2026. The upper age limit for candidates possessing M.Phil. and PhD qualifications will be 32 and 34 years, respectively.

Application Fee

  • A total of Rs. 850/- is the application fee to be paid by candidates belonging to the General and OBC Categories. The same amount is reduced to Rs. 100/- for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD Category.

GMRC Recruitment Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Applicant must be a Graduate in Electrical / Mechanical / Electronics & Communication Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
  • A minimum of 25 years of post-qualification experience in Group ‘A’ or equivalent Executive level service.
  • Significant experience in Planning, Tendering, Execution, and Commissioning of Railway/Metro systems (Signaling, Telecommunication, Rolling Stock, and Power Supply).

Age Limit (as of April 2026)

  • Minimum Age: 45 Years
  • Maximum Age: 57 Years

Selection Process

  • Call letters for interviews will be issued to the candidates via their registered email, specifying the date, time, and venue of the interview.

  • Prospective candidates should send their application in the format at Annexure – 1 along with Scanned copies of relevant educational Qualifications, Scanned Copies of relevant experience/ service certificates, Scanned copy of latest CV, last 3 months payslip & testimonials through email only on career@gujaratmetrorail.com, with the title “Application for the Post of DIRECTOR (SYSTEMS, ELECTRICAL & ROLLING STOCK”. Any candidate found guilty of impersonation or submitting fabricated documents or making statements, which are false or incorrect or indulging in suppression of facts, attempts to use unfair means for the purpose of recruitment, will be liable for rejection. 
  • The Candidate shall have to indicate his/her acceptance to the offer within seven working days from the receipt of offer, if not; the next candidate in order of merit will be offered the appointment on similar lines. However, the Competent Authority may grant such extension of time depending upon the exigencies, if so requested. 
  • Electronic submissions, if any must be submitted in non-editable PDF format. 
  • No application shall be entertained under any circumstances after the stipulated date. Incomplete applications, applications not in format, applications received after the stipulated date, shall be rejected.
  • Original documents in support of qualification and relevant experience required for verification must be provided when needed. Non-submission of documents as specified above, will lead to rejection of candidature at any stage during the process of recruitment.
