PGVCL Vidyut Sahayak Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

B.A., B.Com, B.Sc., B.C.A. and B.B.A. through Regular or External or Open/Distance Learning Mode course from recognized university which must be approved by GC / AICTE. Candidate should have a minimum average of 55% marks in the last year / last two semesters.
Any Programme / course through Open Distance Learning Mode and / or online mode, through any universities / institutes shall have been accredited by the NAAC with minimum score of 3.01 on a 4 point Scale or NBA accreditation with at least 650 points on a scale of 1000.
Note: A minimum of 40% disability is mandatory to be eligible under the PwBD quota. State domicile policy will be strictly followed, providing an 85% representation quota for local residents of Gujarat.

PGVCL Vidyut Sahayak Selection Process 2026:

Selection is made through a two-tier written examination followed by document verification and a medical examination.
1st Tier Examination

Total marks: 100 (100 questions of 1 mark each).
Conducted in Online or Offline mode depending on the number of applications received, at centres across Gujarat.
Candidates scoring 45 marks or above qualify for the 2nd Tier Examination.
Question paper will be in both Gujarati and English; questions on the Gujarati and English subjects themselves will be in Gujarati and English only respectively.

2nd Tier Examination

Total marks: 100, in the same mode as the 1st Tier.
Final ranking/merit is based on marks obtained in this exam.
Minimum cut-off for selection is 45 marks and above for PwBD candidates.

PGVCL Vidyut Sahayak Exam Pattern 2026:

The recruitment process will involve a mandatory Two-Tier Examination System (Tier-I and Tier-II). Both papers will be set in both English and Gujarati (except language-specific sections).
Negative Marking: There is a penalty of 1/4 (0.25) mark for every incorrect answer.
Qualifying Marks: Candidates must score a minimum of 45 marks in Tier-I to qualify for Tier-II. Final selection is strictly based on Tier-II merit marks.
