SSC CHSL 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- For Data Entry Operator (DEO)/ DEO Grade „A‟ in Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Staff Selection Commission and Ministry of Culture: 12th Standard pass in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or equivalent.
- For LDC/JSA and DEO/DEO Grade „A‟ (except DEOs in Department/ Ministry mentioned at Para 8.1 above): Candidates must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a
- recognized Board or University.
- The candidates who have appeared in their 12th Standard or equivalent examination can also apply, however they must possess Essential qualification on or before the cut- off date i.e. 07-10-2026.
SSC CHSL 2026 Age Limit (As on 01-08-2026)
- Age limit for the posts is 18-27 years i.e. Candidates born not before 02-08-1999 and not later than 01-08-2008 are eligible to apply.
SSC CHSL 2026 Application Fee
- Fee payable: Rs 100/- (Rs. one hundred only). Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes(SC), Scheduled Tribes(ST), Persons with Disabilities(PwD) and Ex-servicemen (ESM) eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of fee.
SSC CHSL Selection Process 2026
- The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) starts conducting the Combined Higher Secondary Level(CHSL) in two levels for various posts:
- Tier – I : Objective Multiple Choice (Computer-Based (online))
- Tier – II : Objective Multiple Choice + Skill Test & Typing Test Tier-II will include three sections, each having two modules (Computer-Based (online))
SSC CHSL 2026 Pattern
- The following modifications apply to the SSC CHSL Exam Pattern 2026:
- SSC CHSL 2026 Tier 1 exam will be conducted in online mode.
- There will be sectional timing for both Tier 1 and Tier 2 exams.
- Tier II will include Objective Multiple Choice + Skill Test & Typing Test.
- There is negative marking in the SSC CHSL 2026 Tier 1 Exam. Giving a wrong answer to a question will lead to a penalty of 0.5 marks in all sections.
- The SSC CHSL Tier 1 exam is an objective exam conducted online. The Tier 1 exam has 4 sections and 100 questions, totaling 200 marks.

- SSC CHSL Tier-I Exam Pattern 2026:
- General Intelligence - 25 questions for 50 marks
- General Awareness - 25 questions for 50 marks
- Quantitative Aptitude (Basic Arithmetic Skill) - 25 questions for 50 marks
- English Language (Basic Knowledge) - 25 questions for 50 marks
- Total: 100 questions for 100 marks
- Duration - 60 minutes (15 minutes for each section)
- SSC CHSL Tier-II Session I Exam Pattern 2026:
- Section-I -
- Mathematical Abilities: 30 questions
- Reasoning & General Intelligence: 30 questions
- Total: 60 questions for 180 marks
- Duration - 60 minutes (30-minute sectional timer for each part)
- Section-II -
- English Language & Comprehension: 40 questions
- General Awareness: 20 questions
- Total: 60 questions for 180 marks
