NMDC Steel Application Fees 2025

An amount of Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five hundred only) is to be paid by all the candidates as application fee which is non-refundable.

NMDC Steel Selection Process 2025

Candidates applying for the role of NMDC Steel Limited Executives will selected based on the scores of their OMR-based test/Computer-Based Test (CBT). They will called for the Physical Ability Test/Trade Test, and then the document verification will follow. The NMDC Selection Process is given below-

Important Points Regarding NMC Selection Process:

Candidates will be called for the second round of the test in a 1:3 ratio. This means for each available spot, three candidates will be selected based on their scores in the OMR/CBT exam.
Minimum qualifying marks in OMR/CBT: SC / ST / PwBD is 40 marks and for OBC (NCL) – 45 marks, UR/EWS is 50 marks.
Final selection is based on marks obtained in the OMR Based Test / Computer Based Test (CBT), subject to qualifying in the 2nd Level Test.
Document verification will checked at the time of the second level test.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Personal Assistant: Candidates who have passed their Class 12th / Intermediate Examination from any recognized Board in India with a Dictation of 10 min @ 80 wpm and transcription of 50 minutes in English and 65 minutes in Hindi will be eligible for this post.
Religious Teacher: Candidates who have passed their Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant subject from any recognized University in India will be eligible for this post.
Lineman Field: Candidates who have passed their Class 10th / High School Examination from any recognized Board in India with an ITI certificate in Electrician Trade will be eligible for this post.
Recovery Vehicle Mechanic: Candidates who have passed their Class 10th / High School Examination from any recognized Board in India with an ITI certificate in Recovery Vehicle Mechanic will be eligible for this post.
Bridge & Road (Male & Female): Candidates who have passed their Class 10th / High School Examination from any recognized Board in India with a Diploma in Civil Engineering for Bridge and Road will be eligible for this post.
Electrical & Mechanical: Candidates who have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Mechanical or Civil Engineering from any recognized University in India will be eligible for this post.

Application Fees

Age limit

Candidate should not be less than 18 years of age and should not be more than 26 years of age as on 24.01.2022.

Application Fee

Candidates belonging to General, OBC and EWS categories are required to remit Rs.100/- as application fee. SC/ST/PwBD candidates are exempted from payment of Application Fee.

Selection Process

Selection process shall consist of Written Test and Skill/Proficiency/Physical Test (SPPT).
Skill/Proficiency/Physical Test (SPPT) shall be qualifying in nature only.
Final merit list shall be prepared based on the marks secured in Written Test of only those candidates who are considered FIT in SPPT.
Candidate has to secure a minimum of 40% marks in Written Test to qualify for SPPT. For SC/ST/EXSM/PwBD candidates, minimum qualifying marks shall be 30% (after providing 10 % relaxation) against the reserved posts only.
Candidates, who secure minimum qualifying marks in the Written Test, shall be shortlisted for Skill/Proficiency/Physical Test (SPPT) in the ratio of 1:5 i.e. first 5 candidates with the highest score in written test shall be called for SPPT for one vacancy.
If there is a tie of scores in written test marks, then all candidates with the same score shall be short-listed for SPPT.
In case where number of candidates who qualify in Written Test are less than the required ratio, all the candidates who have scored minimum qualifying marks in Written Test will be shortlisted for SPPT.
The documents shall be checked for only those candidates who qualify in the Written Test and are shortlisted for SPPT, on the day of SPPT. Only those candidates shall be allowed to appear in SPPT whose documents are found in order.
If all shortlisted candidates are found ineligible before the SPPT stage on account of not meeting the eligibility criteria of qualification, age etc., then next 5 candidates who have qualified in the Written Exam in the order of merit, shall be called for the SPPT, as available. If less than 5 qualified candidates are available, then as many available shall be called for SPPT. If there is a tie of score for the 5th ranked person, then all such qualified candidates shall be called who are tied on that score, even if it exceeds the number of candidates from 5.
If after the SPPT all candidates who have appeared in the SPPT are found to be UNFIT, then the next 5 candidates as available, who have qualified in the written Test as per the order of merit, shall be called for the SPPT to fill up the post. If less than 5 qualified candidates are available, then as many available shall be called for SPPT. If there is a tie of score for the 5th rank position, then all such qualified candidates shall be called who are tied on that score, even if it exceeds the number of candidates from 5.
If only one candidate qualifies in the SPPT and he/she does not join after issuance of offer of appointment, then next 5 candidates as available who qualified in the Written Test as per the order of merit, shall be called for SPPT to fill up the post. If less than 5 qualified candidates are available, then as many available shall be called for SPPT. If there is a tie of score for the 5th position, then all such qualified candidates shall be called who are tied on that score, even if it exceeds the number of candidates from 5.

Age limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 26 years.
Application fee: Candidates belonging to General and OBC categories are required to remit Rs.100/- as application fee. SC/ST/PwBD candidates are exempted from payment of Application Fee. The fee is to be paid through online mode only through SBI collect as indicated in Pipelines Recruitment portal. No other mode of fee payment would be acceptable. The Bank Charges/transaction fee/service tax etc., as applicable, while making fee, is to be borne by the candidate.

Selection Methodology

Selection process shall consist of Written Test and Skill/Proficiency/Physical Test (SPPT).

IOCL Apprentice Exam Pattern & Syllabus

Written Test shall be held tentatively on 11.02.2018 (Sunday).
Written Test shall be of Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ’s) consisting of 4 options with one correct option. Candidate has to choose the correct option.
There shall be 100 questions in the Written Test and total marks shall be 100. Each correct answer shall carry 1 mark.
For the post of Engineering Assistants, out of 100 objective type questions, 75 questions shall be from the concerned engineering discipline of Diploma level and 25 questions on General Aptitude and Reasoning, General English, Numerical Aptitude and General Knowledge etc.
For the post of Technical Attendants, out of 100 objective type questions, 75 questions shall be on Technical discipline from General Science and on basic ITI trades like Motor Mechanic, Electrical, and Fitter etc. The remaining 25 questions will be asked on General Aptitude and Reasoning, General English, Numerical Aptitude and General Knowledge.
There shall be no negative marking for wrong answers.
Duration of Written Test shall be of 90 minutes.

IOCL Apprentice Exam Pattern & Syllabus

Selection process would consist of two stages i.e written test & personal interview. The written test will be of two hours duration & would comprise of objective type of questions with multiple choice on the relevant discipline, general knowledge/awareness and reasoning/logical ability. There shall be no negative marking. The questions will be in bilingual ie., English and Hindi
Obtaining minimum qualifying marks in the written test does not confer any right or claim by the candidate for being shortlisted for Personal Interview or the final selection, as the same is related to number of positions, relative performance in respective categories.
The written test and interview would carry a weightage of 85 % and 15 % respectively.
Final selection will be based on aggregate of Written Test and Personal Interview marks. Candidates, in the order of merit will be offered the apprenticeship.
The candidates will have to qualify successfully through each stage of the selection process i.e. Written Test and Personal Interview (Minimum 40%, relaxable by 5% for candidates from SC/ST/PWD Categories against reserved positions) and Pre-engagement medical fitness for being adjudged suitable for engagement.
Candidates are advised to ensure that they are medically fit as per IndianOil’s pre-employment medical standard. Candidates are advised to go through the “Guidelines and Criteria for Physical Fitness for Preemployment medical Examination” before they commence the application process.

Experience

For Trade Apprentice: The prescribed qualification shall be from a recognized University / Institute as a full time, regular course in relevant discipline with minimum 50% marks in aggregate for General & OBC candidates and 45% marks in aggregate in case of SC/ST/PWD candidates against reserved positions.
For Technician Apprentice: The prescribed qualification shall be from a recognized University / Institute as a full time, regular / sandwich Diploma course in Engineering in relevant discipline with minimum 50% marks in aggregate for General & OBC candidates and 45% marks in aggregate in case of SC/ST/PWD candidates against reserved positions.
The candidates should NOT have undergone Apprenticeship earlier or pursuing Apprenticeship Training as per the Apprentices Act, 1961 as amended from time to time.
Candidates, who have training or job experience for a period of one year or more after acquiring the prescribed qualifications etc, shall NOT be eligible for being engaged as Technician Apprentice.
The applicant for the position of Technician Apprentices should NOT have completed three years after passing of the qualifying examination as on 31.10.2017.

Duration of Written Test shall be of 120 minutes i.e. two hours.
Candidates can opt for the Question Paper/Test either in English or Hindi language.
The candidates will have to qualify each stage of the selection process i.e. Written Test and Personal Interview. Minimum qualifying marks in Written Test and Interview is 40% separately. The same is relaxed by 5% for SC/ST/PWD candidates against the reserved post.
Candidates securing minimum qualifying marks in the Written Test and in the order of merit will be called to attend Personal Interview in the ratio of 1:3 for each seat. If there is a tie in scores secured by the candidate in the written test, then all candidates with same score shall be invited, even if the short listing ratio exceeds the prescribed limit.

Selection Process

The ratio of marks for Written Test and interview shall be 85:15 and a candidate will have to secure minimum 40% marks at each stage for qualifying the selection process. The minimum qualifying marks will be relaxed by 5% for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwBD categories considered against reserved positions at each stage of the selection process.
Shortlisted candidates, in the ratio of 1:2 (two candidates for one seat, with due cognizance to number of reserved positions) subject to securing minimum qualifying marks in the written test, will be required to attend a Personal Interview. The Personal Interview for each discipline shall be conducted by a duly constituted committee.

Rigger: Passed VIII std and the National Apprenticeship Certificate Examination passed in the trade of “Rigger”
Stores Staff: Must have passed SSC / HSC with full time three years Engineering Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Electronics & Telecommunication, Instrumentation, Computer engineering .Additional qualification in Material Management & Knowledge of Computer will be Preferred
Structural Fabricator: Passed SSC or equivalent examination conducted by a Board recognised by the Government and National Apprenticeship Certificate Examination passed in the trade of “Structural Fitter / Fabricator” or Passed SSC or equivalent examination conducted by a Board recognised by the Government and National Apprenticeship Certificate Examination passed in any other trade and having one year experience in MDL/Ship-building industry as a Structural Fitter may apply for the Post of Structural Fitter directly. However, the experience certificate should be certified by their Personnel Dept.. The candidate having National Apprenticeship Certificate examination passed in “Sheet Metal Worker” trade will be considered for “Trainee Structural Fabricator”
NDT Inspector: Must have passed SSC with full time three years Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. In addition to this it is essential to have ISNT/ASNT Level II certification in Radiography interpretation, Ultrasonic Testing ,Magnetic particle testing and Dye penetrate testing
Engine Driver/2nd Class Engine Driver: Certificate of competency (Engine Driver 2nd Class) issued by Maharashtra Maritime Board/Mercantile Marine Dept. as per Indian Vessel Act. Knowledge of Swimming is compulsory
Launch Deck Crew (Laskar): Passed SSC or equivalent examination conducted by a Board recognised by the Government. General Purpose(GP) rating course with one year experience as Crew on board Tug/Launch/Vessel of 226 BHP or above. GP rating certificate issued by DG shipping approved institutes will be considered. Knowledge of Swimming is Compulsory. OR Non GP rating with 3 year experience as Crew on board Tug/Launch/Vessel of 226 BHP or above. Knowledge of Swimming is Compulsory.
Security Sepoy: Must have passed SSC or equivalent examination conducted by a Board recognized by Govt. Or passed Indian Army class – I examination or equivalent examination in the Navy or Air Force and has put in at least 15 years of service in the Armed Forces of the Union and is otherwise considered fit to hold the post in view of his experience and other qualifications. Candidates conversant with Security Duties and holding valid commercial driving license will be preferred
Chipper Grinder: Chipper Grinder trade is not a designated trade under Apprenticeship Act. Candidates who have passed SSC and NAC in any trade and have worked in Shipbuilding industry as Chipper Grinder for minimum period of one year may apply for the said post directly. However, the experience certificate should be certified by the Personnel Dept. In case of non-availability of candidates as Chipper Grinder, the candidates having passed SSC with NAC examination conducted by NCVT in the trade of Machinist / Machinist (Grinder) / Turner may apply for the post of “Trainee Chipper Grinder”
Fire fighter: Candidates must have passed SSC or equivalent with Diploma / Certificate in Fire Fighting of minimum six months duration from a Govt. recognised institute. Candidates must posses a valid Heavy Duty Vehicle Licence
Utility Hand (Semi Skilled): Utility Hand is not a designated trade under the Apprenticeship Act. Candidates who have passed SSC with NAC in any trade and have worked in Shipbuilding industry as Utility Hand for minimum period of one year may apply for the said post. However, the experience certificate should be certified by their Personnel Dept
Sail Maker (Tailor): Candidates must have passed VIII std and the ITI in the trade of “Cutting & Tailoring/Cutting & Sewing”.

Age limit: 18 to 33 years as on 01.09.2017

Bank Transaction charges for Online Payment of application fees / intimation charges will have to be borne by the candidate. Kindly note that if candidate is applying for 2 trades from group A or B then fees will be 200 for General and OBC category

Offline Mode:

Application Fees of Rs. 100/- (Non-Refundable) and Bank Charges of Rs. 40/-needs to be deposited at any nearest branch of State Bank of India (SBI) by using challan form.

MDL Technical Staff & Operatives Selection Method

The candidates will be called for “Written Test” based on the information provided by them Online. The Detailed scrutiny of documents of the candidates shortlisted will be done at the time of Trade Test.
The Written Test consisting of will be conducted for all Trades. Based on the performance of Written Test & Experience the candidates would be called for Trade Test. The final merit list would be prepared based on combine marks of Written Test, Experience & Trade Test
The marking pattern would be as under:

Written Test: 30 % (Weightage)
Experience in Shipbuilding Industry: 20 % (Weightage)
Trade Test: 50 % (Weightage)
