Application Fee

  • Application fee- Rs 300/- (Non-refundable)
  • SC/ST/PWD/Ex-SM/ DEx-SM/ Departmental candidates are not required to pay the application fee.

Selection Process

  • The Selection Process for respective posts consists of Written Test/ Computer Based Test only.
  • Part-I consists of Professional Knowledge Test with 120 questions having specific questions of respective discipline. 
  • Part-II consists of Supervisory Aptitude Test with 50 questions on vocabulary, verbal comprehension, quantitative aptitude, reasoning ability, ability to determine data sufficiency, interpretation of graphs/charts/tables, numerical ability etc. 
  • All questions carry equal marks. Wrong and multiple answers would result in negative marks of 1/4.

Selection Process

  • Selection will be made as per the automatic generated merit list as per the rules based on the candidates online submitted applications. 
  • No weightage will be given for higher educational qualification. Only marks obtained in 10th standard of approved Boards aggregated to percentage to the accuracy of 4 decimals will be the criteria for finalizing the selection. Passing of all the subjects as per the respective approved board norms is mandatory subject to the conditions referred in Clause B of Notifications pertaining to Required Educational Qualifications for taking candidate into account for calculating the merit. 
  • Candidates having both marks and grades in the marks list have to apply with marks only. In case any candidates apply with grades only his application liable for disqualification. 
  • In case of the marks lists containing the Grades/ Points, marks will be reckoned by taking conversion of Grades and points with the multiplication factor (9.5) against the maximum points or grade as 100.

    NFR Eligibility Criteria

    • Educational Qualification:
      • Level-1: 10th pass from a recognized Board with National Apprenticeship certificate granted by NCVT or 10th pass from a recognized Board with ITI for appointment in Civil Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical and S&T departments. 10th pass or ITI or equivalent from a recognized Board for appointment in other departments.
      • Level-2: 12th (+2 stage) or its equivalent examination with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate. [50% marks are not to be insisted upon in case of ST/SC/Ex-Servicemen and where candidate possess qualifications higher than HSC, such as Graduation/ Post Graduation]. Typewriting Proficiency of 30 wpm in English or 25 wpm in Hindi is essential for considering to the post of Jr. Clerk cum Typist/ Accounts Clerk cum Typist, based on vacancy. A pass in Matriculation or its equivalent from a recognized Board and having ITI certificate for the posts of Artisans in Technical Categories.
      • Scouts and Guide Qualification: A President Scout/ Guide/ Rover/ Ranger OR Himalayan Wood Badge (HWB) holder in any section. Should have been an active member of a Scouts organization for the last 5 (five) years. The ‘Certificate of Activeness’ as per Annexure. Should have attended two events at National Level OR All Indian Railways level AND two events at State level.

      • Level-1: 
        • UR – 18 to 28 Years
        • OBC – 18 to 31 Years 
        • SC / ST – 18 to 33 Years 
      • Level-2:
        • UR – 18 to 31 Years
        • OBC – 18 to 34 Years
        • SC / ST – 18 to 36 Years
    • Examination Fee: Rs. 500/- only for General and OBC Category Candidates. The IPO should be drawn in favor of FA&CAO/NF Railway, and payable at Maligaon Post Office, Guwahati-781011. The Candidates must write their names & full address in the IPO. For candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ Ex.Servicemen/ Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), Women, Minorities and Economic Backward Classes - ₹ 250/- only with a provision for refunding the same to those who actually appear in the written examination.

      • Good academic record with knowledge of computerization of Library, having at least 55% marks {50%, excluding any grace marks, in case of Scheduled Cast/Scheduled tribe/ Differently-abled (Physically and visually differently abled Categories/Ph.D degree holders, who have obtained their Master’s Degree prior to 19th September 1991} or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed, at the Master’s Degree level Library Science/Information Science/ documentation Science, or an equivalent professional degree form an India/ Accredited foreign University.
      • The candidate must have cleared NET/SLET/SET conducted by the UGC,CSIR/AIU.
      • The candidates who are, or have been awarded a Ph.D degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D degree regulations), 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET.
    • Physical Training Instructors: 74 Posts
      • A Master’s Degree in Physical Education or Master’s Degree in Sports Science with at least 55% marks {50%, excluding any grace marks, in case of Scheduled marks, in case of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled tribe/Differently-abled (Physically and Visually differently abled) categories/Ph.D degree holders, who have obtained their Master’s Degree prior to 19th September 1991} or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed with a consistently good academic record.
      • Has represented the University/College at the inter-university/collegiate competition or the State and/or national championship. 
      • The candidate must have cleard NET/SLET/SET conducted by the UGC, CSIR/AIU.
      • Passed the physical fitness test as per standards prescribed here under: 
      • NORMS FOR MEN (12 Minute Run/Walk Test)
        • Upto 30 year of age 1800 meter | Upto 40 year of age 1500 meter | Upto 45 year of age 1200 meter
      • NORMS FOR WOMEN (08 Minute Run/Walk Test)
        • Upto 30 year of age 1000 meter | Upto 40 year of age 800 meter | Upto 45 year of age 600 meter
      • Provided that a candidate who is required to undertake the physical fitness test shall produce a medical certificate certifying to the effect that he/she is medically fit for under taking such test, before actually undertaking the said test.
      • The candidates who are, or have been awarded a Ph.D degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D degree regulations),2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET.
