Education Qualification: Candidates should have passed 10+2 in any stream or equivalent from West Bengal board of secondary education or its equivalent.
Age limit: 18 to 27 years

All categories except Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (of West Bengal only) Rs. 150 + Rs. 20 = Rs. 170
Scheduled Caste (West Bengal only): Rs. 20
Scheduled Tribe (West Bengal only): Rs. 20

Sub-Inspector selection Process:

Final Selection will be based on Preliminary Written Test, PMT & PET, Final Written Examination & Interview.

Sub-Inspector Exam Pattern & Syllabus

Exam Pattern:

Preliminary Written Test : (Full Marks – 100)

General Awareness and General Knowledge : 50 Marks
Elementary Mathematics (Madhyamik Standard) : 30 Marks
Reasoning : 20 Marks

PHYSICAL MEASUREMENT TEST (PMT) :-The physical standards (height and weight) of the candidates as given under 3(e) will be tested by using Electronic Machines of those who qualify in the Preliminary Written Test.
PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY TEST (PET) :- Candidates who will qualify in PMT will be allowed to take part in PET which consists of 1600 (Sixteen hundred) meters run within 06 (six) minutes 30 (thirty) seconds.
