Eligibility

  • Educational Qualification: 
    • Office Superintendent (State fire prevention service)
      • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree obtained from any of the Universities established or incorporated by or under the Central or a State Act in India or any other educational institutions recognised as such or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or Possess an equivalent qualification recognised by the Government;
      • possess the basic knowledge of Computer application in accordance with the provisions of the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules , 1967;
      • Possess adequate Knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.
    • Office Superintendent (Cottage and woodland)
      • a degree obtained from any of the University established or incorporated by Central or a State Act in india; or any other educational institution recognized as such or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956; or possess an equivalent qualification recognised by the Government; 
      • basic knowledge of Computer application as prescribed in the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules , 1967; and
      • adequate Knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.
    • Office Superintendent (Industry commissioner's office)
      • a Bachelor’s degree obtained from any of the Universities established or incorporated by or under the Central or a State Act in india; or any other educational institution recognised as such or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act,1956 or Possess an equivalent qualification recognised by the Government.
      • The basic knowledge of Computer application as prescribed in the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules , 1967; and
      • adequate Knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.
    • Superintendent (Fisheries Department)
      • a second class degree obtained from any of the Universities or institutions established or incorporated by or under The Central Or State Act in India; or any other educational institution recognized as such or declared to be deemed as University under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956; or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Government; and
      • The basic knowledge of Computer application as prescribed in Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules , 1967; and
      • Possess adequate Knowledge of Gujarati and /or Hindi.
      • Provided further that the preference may be given to a candidate who possesses a degree in Law or in personnel Management or Labour Welfare obtained from a University established or incorporated by or under the Central or State Act in India. 
    • Head Constable (Jamadar): 
      • have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (Standard XII, 10+2 pattern) conduct by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board or possess an equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Government; 
      • possess the basic knowledge of computer application as prescribed by the Gujarat Civil Service Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967 as amended from time to time in that behalf;
      • possess the minimum requisite standards of physique as specified in  appendix I
      • have passed the physical as may be prescribed by the Government in this behalf time of recruitment , and 
      • possess adequate knowledge of Gujarat or hindi or both 
    • Inspector: 
      • Possess a degree obtained from any of the university or an institution established or incorporated by an act of the parliament or a state legistlature in india or an institution declared to be deemed as a university under section 3 of the university grants commission act, 1956 (3 of 1956) or an equivalent qualification recognized as such by the government. 
      • possess the bacis knowledge of computer application as prescribed by the Gujarat civil services classification and recruitment (general) rules, 1967 as amended from time to time in that behalf; 
      • possess the minimum requisite standards of physique as specified in appendix II
      • possess adequate knowledge of Gujarat or hindi or both
  • Age limit: Office superintendent & Superintendent: 35 years & Head Constable (Jamadar): Not more than 33 & Inspector: Not more than 35
  • Application Fee: Rs. 100,/- + Rs. 12/- Postal Charge

Selection Process

  • Final Selection will be Preliminary Test, Physical Test & Main Exam for Head Constable & Inspector.
  • Final Selection will be Preliminary Test & Computer Proficiency Test for Office Superintendent.

Office Superintendent, Head Constable & Inspector Exam Pattern

  • Office Superintendent & Superintendent 
    • Part-I: Preliminary Test
      • General Studies (History of Gujarat, Geography and Culture, Sports, General Science, Basic Computer, Environment, Public Administration, Govt. Scheme (Yojana), Panchayati Raj & Disaster Management): 60 Marks
      • Gujarati Grammar & Literature (Sahitya): 40 Marks
      • English Grammar: 20 Marks
      • Mathematical and logical: 30 Marks
      • Total Marks: 150 Marks
      • Total Time: 120 Minutes
      • Negative marking: 0.25 for each wrong answer
    • Part-II: 
      • Computer Proficiency Test 
      • Total Marks: 75 Marks
      • Total Time: 1 Hour & 15 Minutes
  • Head Constable
    • Part-I (1 Hour & 100 Marks)
      • Preliminary Examination (Screening Test- Objective Type)
      • General Knowledge-Objective Type
    • Part-II
      • Physical Screening Test: The particulars of test and qualifying standard shall be as under:
        • Male Candidate: Running 800 meters (Qualifying standard: in 5 Minutes)
        • Female Candidate: Running 400 meters (Qualifying standard: in 3 Minutes)
        • Ex- Serviceman Candidate: Running 1200 meters (Qualifying standard: in 8 Minutes)
    • Part-III
      • Main Examination
        • Objective Type – Written Examination (1 Hour & 100 Marks)
          • Distribution of Marks of each subject is as under
            • Gujarati: 35 Marks
            • English: 30 Marks 
            • General Knowledge: 35 Marks
    • Note: The standard of questions of Gujarati and English shall not be lower than of the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination conducted by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education board. minimum qualifying standard 40% for All Category.
  • Inspector
    • Part-I (1 Hour & 100 Marks)
      • Preliminary Examination (Screening Test- Objective Type)
      • General Knowledge-Objective Type
    • Part-II
      • Physical Screening Test: The particulars of test and qualifying standard shall be as under:
        • Male Candidate: Running 1600 meters (Qualifying standard: in 8 Minutes)
        • Female Candidate: Running 800 meters (Qualifying standard: In 4 minutes and 30 seconds)
        • Note: only the candidates, who qualify in physical standards fixed for them as above, shall be eligible to appear in the main examination as specified in part III. There shall be no marks for the physical test.
    • Part-III
      • Main Examination
        • The main examination shall consist written objective type of 100 (Hundred) marks as follows namely: 
          • Written Examination – Objective Type: 
            • Gujarati: 35 Marks
            • English: 30 Marks 
            • General Knowledge: 35 Marks
    • Note:  The standard of question paper of Gujarati as well as English shall be of the level of the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination conduced in the State. minimum qualifying standard 40% for All Category
