Income Tax Recruitment Eligibility Criteria 2026

Educational Qualification

Tax Assistants:

Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
Having a data entry speed of 8,000 key depressions per hour.

Multi-Tasking Staff:

Matriculation or equivalent pass from a recognized Board/Council.

Sports Eligibility

Recruitment of sportspersons considered meritorious will be with reference to the following eligibility criteria:

Sportsmen who have represented a State or the country in the National or International competition; or Medal winners in Junior National Championships; or Medal winners in Khelo India Youth Games (age category above 18 years); or Khelo India Winter Games;or Khelo India Para Games; or Medal winners in Khelo India University Games; or Medal winners in School Games Federation of India (SGFI) in any of the games/sports mentioned at para 7 of this advertisement.
Sportsmen who have represented their University in the Inter-University Tournaments conducted by the Inter-University Sports Boards in any of the sports/games specified at para 7 of this advertisement.
Sportsmen who have represented the State School Teams in the National Sports/games for schools conducted by the All India School Games Federation in any of the games/sports mentioned at para 7 of this advertisement.

Note:- No such appointments can be made unless the candidate is, in all respects, eligible for appointment to the post applied for, and in particular, with regard to age, educational or experience qualifications prescribed under the Recruitment Rules applicable to the post, except to the extent to which relaxations thereof have been permitted in respect of class/category of persons to which the applicant belongs.

Age limit

Tax Assistant: 18 to 27 years of age (i.e. candidates born not before 02.01.1999 and not later than 01.01.2008).
Multi-Tasking Staff: 18 to 25 years of age (i.e. candidates born not before 02.01.2001 and not later than 01.01.2008).
