GSSSB Revenue Talati Eligibility Criteria 2025

  • Qualification: 
    • Candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification.
    • Applicants must possess basic knowledge of computer operations. This can often be evidenced by a certificate from a training institute, marksheet indicating computer as a subject in Class 10 or 12, or a diploma/degree in computer knowledge. Even if you don't have the certificate at the time of application, you may be allowed to apply but will need to produce it before appointment.
    • Candidates must have adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi, or both languages.
  • Important Note: Final year/semester students of their Bachelor's Degree are also generally eligible to apply, provided their results are declared and they qualify before the final selection process. 
  • Age limit: 20 to 35 year (as on 10/06/2025)

GSSSB Revenue Talati Application Fee

  • Rs. 500/- for General Category, Rs. 400/- for Female, OBC, SC, ST, Divyag, Ex-Servicemen.
  • The fees paid shall be refunded to those candidates who have appeared for the examination and obtained not less than 40% of marks in the Preliminary Examination.
  • The candidate who is declared qualified for the Main Examination on the basis of the result of the Preliminary Examination by the Board, shall not be required to pay any fee for the Main Examination. 

GSSSB Revenue Talati Selection Process

  • The selection process is anticipated to include a Preliminary Examination (either Computer Based Response Test or OMR-based), a Main Examination, and a final Document Verification stage.

GSSSB Revenue Talati Exam Pattern

  • Preliminary Examination (Prelims):
    • This is the first stage and is usually a Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) based written examination.
    • It generally comprises 200 questions for a total of 200 marks, with a duration of 3 hours.
    • There is typically a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.
    • The subjects covered usually include:
      • Gujarati Language (20 marks)
      • English Language (20 marks)
      • Polity, Public Administration, Economics (30 marks)
      • History, Geography, Culture & Heritage (30 marks)
      • Environment, Science, and Information Technology (30 marks)
      • Current Affairs (30 marks)
      • Maths and Reasoning (40 marks)
  • Candidates need to score a minimum of 40% marks in the Preliminary Exam to be considered eligible for the Main Examination. A certain number of candidates (approximately five times the number of vacancies) are shortlisted based on their merit in the Prelims.
  • Main Examination (Mains):
    • This stage is typically a descriptive written examination.
    • It usually consists of three papers for a total of 350 marks, with each paper having a duration of 3 hours.
    • The subjects generally include:
      • Gujarati Language Skill (100 marks)
      • English Language Skill (100 marks)
      • General Studies (150 marks)
    • The standard of the language papers (Gujarati and English) is usually equivalent to the higher level of the 12th standard of the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board. The General Studies paper covers a broad range of topics as specified in the official syllabus.
  • Document Verification (DV):
    • Candidates who successfully clear both the Preliminary and Main examinations will be called for document verification.
    • In this stage, candidates must present all their original documents to verify their identity, educational qualifications, age, caste/category (if applicable), computer proficiency, and any other relevant certificates as specified in the official notification.
    • The final selection and merit list are prepared based on the marks obtained in the Main Examination and successful completion of the document verification process. It's crucial for candidates to upload clear, color PDF files of all required documents within the stipulated timeframe, as failure to do so can lead to disqualification.
