Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Fitter: Trade certificate - Fitter Trade
  • Chemical Plant: Trade certificate - Attendant Operator Chemical Plant (AOCP) Trade
  • Electric: Trade certificate - Electrician Trade
  • Instrument: Trade certificate - Instrument Mechanic Chemical Plant (IMCP) Trade
  • Mechanic: Trade certificate - Maintenance Mechanic Chemical Plant (MMCP) Trade
  • Laboratory: Trade certificate - Laboratory Assistant Chemical Plant (LACP) Trade
  • Machine: Trade certificate - Machinist Trade
  • Note: Only those applicants would be considered for the seats against a Discipline/ Trade (Column A at table given below) who possess the essential qualification (as specified in Column B at table given below) in the same trade.

Age limit

  • Applicant should not be less than eighteen years (18) of age as on 01.01.2025 and should not be more than twenty-one (21) years of age as on 01.01.2025. That is, the Date of Birth of the applicants should be between 01/01/2004 to 01/01/2007 only. 

Selection Process

  • The Applicants meeting the above mentioned criteria shall be required to undergo written test. The selection will be based on the performance in written test and personal interview.
  • Candidates will be offered the apprenticeship in order of merit.
  • 20% of the seat of the total requirements to be kept reserved for applicants from Ambetha and Suva villages of Vagra Taluka who are meeting the published eligibility criteria. In case of receiving more applications from these villages, their selection will be based on merit as defined above and seat allocated for these villages shall not be increased. In other scenario of non-receiving sufficient applications from these villages, the vacant reserved seat shall be allotted to applicants (other than Ambetha/Suva) in the order of merit as defined above.
  • Medical Certificate of fitness for Apprenticeship Training in OPaL, in original, shall be required to be submitted at the time of joining the Apprenticeship Training from a Registered Medical Officer/ Practitioner giving complete name, address and registration number of the medical authority.

How to Apply

  • Aspirants may send the documents as given below by email at Apprentices@opalindia.in, mentioning the Apprenticeship-2025 on the subject line of the mail latest by 04.01.2025.
    • D.O.B Document – School Leaving Certificate or Birth Certificate issued by the Municipality or such appropriate authority. (Documents must be PDF format max 2MB file size)
    • Copy of 10th Standard (SSC) Marksheet (Documents must be PDF format max 2MB file size) 
    • Copy of Consolidated Mark sheet/ last mark sheet of essential qualification (ITI) obtained. If the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) assigns grades, conversion certificate if any, from
    • respective Industrial Training Institute (ITI) for calculating percentage of marks. (Documents must be PDF format max 2MB file size)
    • Copy of latest updated resume (Documents must be PDF or MS-Word format max 2MB file size)
    • Copy of Caste certificate i.e. SC/ST/OBC/ or Certificate of PwBD) – if applicable (Documents must be Pdf format max 2MB file size)
    • Applications by any other mode shall not be accepted. 
    • Before applying for apprentices’ position (Column A above) who possess the essential qualification (as specified in Column B above), applicants have to first register themselves in online portals of the following agencies of Govt. of India at  https://Apprenticeshipindia.org
    • After successful registration with the above agency, a registration number will be generated and the candidate has to mention this registration number while applying for apprentices’ position in OPaL though mail to Apprentices@opalindia.in 
    • Selected candidates will be intimated through their registered mail ID. 
    • The verification of the original documents shall be done prior to joining on a specific date. The list of documents and originals to be brought for verification shall be intimated to the selected candidates.

    • Polymer Operations: Bachelor Engineering degree in Chemical/Petrochemical Engineering or Polymer Technology with hands on experience in petrochemicals/Chemicals/Hydrocarbon Industries, etc. for a large organization of repute. Experience in DCS operations in Polymer plant will be preferred. Candidate with First class degree in the mentioned qualification and pre-commissioning/commissioning/start-up, shutdown experience in the above relevant area will be given preference.
    • Finance: CA / ICWA with hands on experience in covering plant and corporate accounting, Costing & Budgeting, taxation, audits, insurance and risk management, etc. for a large organisation of repute, preferably in petrochemicals or Hydrocarbon Industry. Candidate with First class degree in the mentioned qualification and relevant experience in Petrochemical / Refinery / Chemical / Fertiliser Industries will be given preference. 
    • HR: 2 Years Full Time degree in MBA (/Or Equivalent PG) with specialization in HR and hands on experience in managing, HR & Admin activities for a large size organization, preferably in Petrochemicals / hydrocarbon industries. Candidate with First class degree in the mentioned qualification and experience in the above relevant area will be given preference.
    • Marketing: Bachelor Engineering degree OR 2 Years Full Time MBA /( Or equivalent PG) with specialization in Marketing/SCM with hands on experience in Sales & Marketing for a large organisation of repute, preferably in petrochemicals or Hydrocarbon Industry. Candidate with First class degree in the mentioned qualification and relevant experience in Petrochemical / Refinery / Chemical / Fertilizer Industries will be given preference. 
  • Non Executive Cadre:
    • Cracker Operations: Diploma (Govt recognized 3 years course) in Chemical Engineering/Petrochemical Engineering with hands on experience in petrochemicals/Chemicals/Hydrocarbon Industries, etc. for a large organisation of repute. Candidate with First class in the mentioned qualification and pre-commissioning/ commissioning/ start-up, shutdown experience in the above relevant area will be given preference.
    • Polymer Operations: Diploma (Govt recognized 3 years course) in Chemical Engineering/Petrochemical Engineering/Polymer Technology with hands on experience in petrochemicals/Chemicals/Hydrocarbon Industries, etc. for a large organisation of repute. Candidate with First class in the mentioned qualification and pre-commissioning/commissioning/start-up, shutdown experience in the above relevant area will be given preference.
    • Fire: Intermediate and Govt. recognized diploma Course in Fire/ Fire & safety. Candidates should have a valid driving license for heavy vehicles. Should meet the physical fitness criteria as under: Minimum height – 168 cms (for Hillman/tribes, mini 166 cms) , Chest : (Unexpanded = 81 cms, Expanded = 86 cms) & Standard Physical endurance Test for Fire domain.Candidate with First Class in the mentioned qualification & relevant experience in Petrochemicals/Refinery/Chemical/Fertiliser industries will be given preference.

Age limit

  • 28 years for All Posts and 36 years for Only Fire posts

  • Final Selection will be based on personal interview.
