HCG Recruitment 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

M. Lib./ Master in Library and Information Science.
A Candidate must possess a Certificate with respect to Basic Knowledge of Computer as prescribed by the State Government from time to time.

HCG Recruitment 2025 Selection Process

The selection process involves a main written examination (objective type MCQs) scheduled for June 29, 2025, followed by a viva-voce test (oral interview) tentatively in July or August 2025.
The Select List shall be prepared on the basis of Aggregate Marks obtained by the Candidates in the Main Written Examination (60% Weightage) and Marks obtained in Viva-voce Test.
The Select List shall remain in force for a period of 01 Year, from the date of its publication or until the publication of a fresh List(s), whichever is earlier.

HCG Assistant Librarian Scheme of Examination

(A) Main Written Examination (Objective Type-MCQs):

The Main Written Examination would be conducted at Ahmedabad or at the Centre(s), as may be decided by the High Court, comprising of 100 Marks, with 02 Hours duration, consisting of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each of 01 Mark with Negative Marking of 0.33 Mark for each Wrong/Multiple Answer.

Candidates shall have to secure minimum 50% Marks in the Main Written Examination, for being eligible to be called for Viva-voce Test.
In case, large number of Candidates will qualify in the Main Written Examination, it will be open for the High Court to restrict the number of Candidates as deemed necessary, according to Merit.

(B) Viva-voce Test (Oral Interview):

Viva-voce Test shall be of 40 Marks.
For being eligible to be included in the Select List, the candidate shall have to obtain minimum 40% Marks in the Viva-voce Test.
