NCC Special Entry Eligibility Criteria

Nationality /

A candidate must either be: (i) A citizen of India, or (ii) A subject of Nepal, or (iii) A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii) and (iii) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. Certificate of eligibility will, however, not be necessary in the case of candidates who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal.

Educational Qualification

For NCC 'C' Certificate Holders:

(aa) Educational Qualification: Minimum qualification acceptable is a Bachelor’s Degree or a qualification recognised as equivalent from a recognized University. Applicants studying in final year are also allowed to apply provided they complete and obtain Graduation Degree before commencement of course. For such candidates the aggregate % scored in first two/three years of three/four year degree course respectively will be considered for shortlisting. It is to be noted that possession of graduate degree is a qualification to apply for the entry and not necessary a qualification to be shortlisted for SSB. The Indian Army reserves the right to shortlist candidates for SSB by applying vacancy to call up ratio based on various filters, as deemed necessary (Refer Para 10(a) of Notification for more details).
Service in NCC: Should have served for minimum two/three years (as applicable) in Senior Division/Wg of NCC.
(ac) Grading: Should have obtained minimum of ‘B' Grade in ‘C’ Certificate Exam of NCC. Applicants who are not holding NCC ‘C’ Cert or Provisional NCC ‘C’ Certificate on date of application, are not eligible to apply for the course. Candidates holding Provisional NCC ‘C’ Certificate on date of application are required to obtain NCC ‘C’ Certificate before appearing in SSB. PROVISIONAL NCC ‘C’ CERTIFICATE WILL NOT BE
ACCEPTED AT SSB.

For Wards of Battle Casualties of Indian Army Personnel:

(aa) Eligibility Criteria: The vacancies under wards of battle casualties are available to wards (unmarried sons and unmarried daughters including legally adopted) of Army Battle casualties specified as:-

(aaa) Killed in action.
(aab) Died of wound or injuries (Other than self-inflicted).
(aac) Wounded or Injured (Other than self-inflicted).
(aad) Missing, presumed dead.

(ab) Educational Qualification. Minimum qualification acceptable is a Bachelor’s Degree or a qualification recognised as equivalent from a recognized University. (ac) NCC 'C' certificate NOT required for Wards of Battle Casualties.
(ad) Details of Documents to be provided in the Application Form.
(aaa) The ‘Battle Casualty’ certificate Number issued by Manpower (Policy & Planning) Directorate (MP Dte) certifying that the parent has been killed/wounded/reported missing in action.
Note:- Battle casualty certificate issued by respective Record Offices is valid for casualties prior to Sep 2013. For casualties since Sep 2013, battle casualty certificate should have been issued by Adjutant General’s Branch Manpower (Policy & Planning)-5(D).
(aab) A copy of Manpower (Policy & Planning) Directorate (MP Dte)/Respective Regimental Records Part II Order Number. notifying injuries and being classified as ‘Battle Casualty’.
(aac) Relationship Certificate No issued by Manpower (Policy & Planning) Directorate 5 & 6 / Respective Regimental Records.

Age limit

For National Cadet Corps (NCC) candidates (including wards of Battle Casualties) 19 to 25 years as on 01 Jan 2027 (born not earlier than 02 Jan 2002 and not later than 01 Jan 2008 both dates inclusive).

NCC Special Entry Selection Process

The NCC Special Entry Selection Process for the 125th Course has five stages. There is no written exam in this entry.

Application Submission: Candidates fill the online form and submit personal, educational, and NCC details.
Shortlisting of Applications: Applications are shortlisted using bonus marks out of 100. Up to 50 marks are given for the NCC 'C' Certificate grade (50 marks for 'A' Grade, 25 marks for 'B' Grade), and up to 50 marks for graduation percentage (0 marks below 60%, rising to 50 marks for 85% and above).
SSB Centre and Date Selection: Shortlisted candidates choose their SSB centre and interview date on a first-come, first-served basis.
SSB Interview: The interview runs over five days in two stages at Prayagraj, Bhopal, Bengaluru, or Jalandhar.
Medical Examination and Merit List: Candidates who clear the SSB undergo a medical test. A final merit list is prepared based on SSB marks, and joining letters are issued to selected candidates for training at OTA Chennai.
