SBI PO Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

The candidates must hold Indian Citizenship
A Subject of Nepal or Bhutan
A Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement
A Person of Indian Origin (PIO) who has migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, or East African countries of Zaire, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Ethiopia, or Malawi, with the intention of permanent settlement in India

Educational Qualification

Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. Those who are in the Final Year/ Semester of their Graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if called for interview, they will have to produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before 30.09.2026. Candidates having Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) certificate should ensure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before 30.09.2026. Candidates possessing qualifications such as Medical, Engineering, Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant etc. would also be eligible.

SBI PO Age Limit (1/4/2026)

To apply for the SBI PO exam, candidates must be between 21 and 30 years old. This means they should have been born between April 2, 1996, and April 1, 2005. Candidates from reserved categories can get age relaxation as per government rules.

SBI PO 2026 Selection Process

The SBI PO Selection Process 2026 involves three phases, which the candidates need to qualify for the final recruitment. The Prelims and Mains exams are both online exams that are conducted to assess the knowledge of the candidates.

Stage 1: Preliminary Exam: An objective test with sections like English, Quant, and Reasoning. It is qualifying in nature; scores are not counted for final merit.
Stage 2: Mains Exam: Includes objective and descriptive papers. (Total Marks: 250) Marks are considered for the final selection.
Stage 3: Psychometric Test, GD & Interview: A psychometric test assesses personality traits. Followed by Group Discussion and Interview to evaluate communication and leadership.
