GSRTC Driver and Conductor Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Nationality / Citizenship Requirements

A citizen of India.
A subject of Nepal or Bhutan.
A Tibetan refugee who arrived in India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in the country.
A person of Indian origin who has migrated with the intention of permanently settling in India from countries including Pakistan, Bangladesh, Myanmar (Burma), Sri Lanka, or specified East African countries (such as Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, or Ethiopia) and Vietnam.

Educational Qualification

You must have passed Class 12th (10+2) from the Gujarat Board or any recognized equivalent.
Computer Skills: Applicants must have a basic understanding of computer operations and hold a valid certificate from a government-recognized institution as per Gujarat Government rules.
For Conductor: Applicants must hold a valid conductor license and badge officially issued by the Regional Transport Office (RTO).
For Driver: Applicants must submit an RTO heavy driving license and badge that is at least four years old, along with a certificate proving a minimum of four years of active heavy vehicle driving experience gained after licensing, excluding any break periods.

Age Limit (As of July 5, 2026)

For Conductors: 18 to 35 years
For Drivers: 25 to 35 years

GSRTC Driver Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

Selection will be made through a two-stage process: an OMR-based Written Test followed by a Driving Test. Final merit is based on combined weightage of both stages (40% OMR + 60% Driving Test = 100%).

Negative Marking: For every incorrect, blank, or multiple-marked answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted. Selecting option ‘E’ (Not Attempted) in the OMR sheet will prevent any negative marking.
