NTA UGC NET Notification June 2020

National Testing Agency - NTA published an official notification for University Grand Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC- NET) exam 2020 for Assistant Professor, Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor recruitment. As per this official notification, this exam will be conducted on 15/06/2020 to 20/06/2020 by NTA. You can view this official notification by below mentioned link. Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognized by UGC. For more details please read official notification.

Age limit

  • JRF: Not more than 30 years as on 01/06/2020
  • Assistant Professor: There is no upper age limit in applying for UGC-NET.

Examination Fee

  • Rs. 1000/- for General / UR
  • Rs. 500/- for Gen-EWS / OBC-NCL
  • Rs. 250/- SC/ST/PwD/Transgender

Exam Pattern

  • The Test will consist of two papers. Both the papers will consist of objective type, multiple choice questions. There will be no break between papers.
    • Paper - 1: The questions in Paper I intends to assess the teaching/ research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, reading comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate, with 100 marks & 50 questions and 3 hours (180 minutes) duration without any break.
    • Paper - 2: This is based on the subject selected by the candidate and will assess domain knowledge, with 200 marks & 100 questions and 3 hours (180 minutes) duration without any break.

Subject and Syllabus of Test

  • The List of UGC-NET subjects for June 2020 and their Codes are given at Annexure-III. The candidates may note that the syllabus has been modified and the new syllabus applicable from June 2019 on wards has also been notified through a public notice on NTA website.
  • National Testing Agency will not provide the copy of syllabus to any candidate with below mention link.

Selection Process

  • Final Selection will be based on Computer Based Test (CBT).

  • Application start from: 16/03/2020
  • Last date for application: 16/04/2020 (till 11:50 pm)
  • Last date of successful transaction of fee through Credit Card/Debit Card/Net-Banking/Paytm: 17/04/2020 (till 11:50 pm)
  • Correction in particulars of Application Form on website only: 18/04/2020 to 24/04/2020
  • Downloading of Admit Cards from NTA website: 15/05/2020
  • Dates of Examination: 15/06/2020 to 20/06/2020
  • Time of Examination: 09:30 am to 12:30 pm & 02:30 pm to 05:30 pm (3 hrs duration)
