GNLU Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification & Experience:

Associate Professor of Law:

Good academic record with a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline.
A Master’s Degree in Law with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) from any recognized University or an equivalent degree from any foreign University.
A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/industry excluding the period of Ph.D. Degree research with evidence of quality published work and a minimum of 5 publications as books and /or research/policy papers.
Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology mediated teaching learning process with evidence of having guided doctoral candidates and research students.
A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Appraisal System (PBAS) of UGC.

Assistant Professor of Law:

Good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
Minimum four years’ experience as an Assistant Professor in scale of Rs. 15600-39100 AGP Rs. 6000/- with Ph. D. Degree in the relevant discipline.OR
Minimum five years’ experience as an Assistant Professor in scale of Rs. 15600-39100 AGP Rs. 6000/- with M.Phil. degree in relevant discipline. OR
Minimum six years’ experience as an Assistant Professor in scale of Rs. 15600-39100 AGP Rs. 6000/- with Master degree in relevant discipline with NET/SET/SLET

Assistant Professor of Law:

Good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by UGC like SLET/SET.
Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-clauses (i) and (ii) to this clause, candidates, who are, or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor.

Assistant Professor of Science & Technology:

Good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
Minimum four years’ experience as an Assistant Professor in scale of Rs. 15600-39100 AGP Rs. 6000/- with Ph. D. Degree in the relevant discipline.OR
Minimum five years’ experience as an Assistant Professor in scale of Rs. 15600-39100 AGP Rs. 6000/- with M.Phil. degree in relevant discipline. OR
Minimum six years’ experience as an Assistant Professor in scale of Rs. 15600-39100 AGP Rs. 6000/- with Master degree in relevant discipline with NET/SET/SLET.

Assistant Librarian:

M. L.I.Sc from a recognized university or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Government.
Eight years’ experience in relevant field preferably in educational institution / Government / Semi Government/ Public or Private organisation.

ICT System Manager:

M.C.A / M. Sc in Computer Sciences/Computer Application /Information Technology from a recognized university or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Government.
Eight years’ experience in relevant field preferably in educational institution/Government/Semi Government/ Public or Private organisation.

Assistant Director of Physical Education & Sports:

M. P. Ed from a recognized university or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Government.
Eight years’ experience in relevant field preferably in educational institution/ Government/Semi Government/ Public or Private Enterprise or institute.

Application fees for each Post:

Teaching posts: Rs. 1000 for candidates from unreserved category and Rs. 700 for candidates from Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Differently-abled (Physically and visually differently-abled) categories. Fees shall be paid either in cash at the University or through Demand Draft drawn in favor of Gujarat National Law University payable at Ahmedabad. No other mode of fees payment shall be accepted. Application form without the requisite application fees shall be summarily rejected.
Non Teaching posts: Rs. 500 for candidates from unreserved category and Rs. 300 for candidates from Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Differently-abled (Physically and visually differently-abled) categories. Fees shall be paid either in cash at the University or through Demand Draft drawn in favor of Gujarat National Law University payable at Ahmedabad. No other mode of fees payment shall be accepted. Application form without the requisite application fees shall be summarily rejected.
