Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification

  • Development Assistant: Bachelor's Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (pass class for SC/ST/PWBD and Ex-Servicemen candidates) in aggregate or possess equivalent qualification from a recognised University / Institution incorporated by an Act of Central or State Legislature in India or any other Educational Institution established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as University under Section-3 of UGC Act, 1956.
  • Development Assistant (Hindi): Bachelor's Degree from a recognised University in English/Hindi medium with Hindi and English as a compulsory or elective subject with a minimum of 50% marks (pass class for SC/ST/PWBD/EXS candidates) in the aggregate OR Bachelor's Degree with Hindi and English as main subjects with a minimum of 50% marks (pass class for SC/ST/PWBD/EXS candidates) in the aggregate.
  • Candidate must be able to translate from English to Hindi and vice-versa.

Selection Process: It has been decided to introduce a new scheme of selection for recruitment of Officers in Grade ‘A’ and Grade ‘B’ from this process. Candidates will be required to write all the papers online. The Preliminary online Examination will be common for both Assistant Manager (RDBS) in Grade ‘A’ and Manager (RDBS) in Grade ‘B’. The selection will be based on three Phases & interview.

  • PRE-EXAMINATION TRAINING FOR SC/ST/OBC/PWD CANDIDATES FOR ASST. MANAGER IN RDBS AND MANAGER IN GRADE ‘B’ (RDBS)
    • The Bank arranges pre examination training to SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates, free of cost. Candidates who desire to avail of the training may apply SEPARATELY to the Chief General Manager, NABARD at any one of the centres marked below(**), in the format furnished below on or before 20 April 2016. The cover containing the application should be superscribed "APPLICATION FOR PRE-EXAMINATION TRAINING FOR SC/ST/OBC/PWD CANDIDATES FOR ASST. MANAGER IN RDBS AND MANAGER IN GRADE ‘B’ (RDBS), Outstation Candidates should not send their application for training to NABARD, HRMD, HO, MUMBAI, as it will not entertain such applications. However, candidates opting for Mumbai Centre for PRT may forward their application to NABARD, HRMD, HO, Mumbai.
    • The pre-examination training would be held prior to Preliminary Examination in the following centres. The exact date, time and venue would be informed to the candidates in advance. The training will be held subject to adequate number of requests being received.

Application Fee: Candidates have to pay of Rs. 100/- for SC/ST & PWD candidates (only intimation charges) & for all other candidates Rs. 650/- (Gr-A) & Rs. 750/- (Gr-B) through online.
  • The fee/intimation charges waiver is only for those employees of NABARD (Staff Candidates) who satisfy the eligibility criteria separately stipulated by the Bank internally. The status as staff candidate will be verified at the time of interview. In case they are not eligible to be treated as staff candidates, they are advised to indicate themselves as non-staff candidates and pay fees/intimation charges as applicable to non-staff candidates.

NABARD Exam Pattern & Syllabus

  • The selection will be in three Phases as furnished below: 
    • Objective Type: MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions) carrying 200 marks.
    • Duration: 120 Minutes Composite Time
      • Test of Reasoning – - 20 questions - 20 marks
      • English Language – - 40 questions - 40 marks
      • Computer Knowledge – 20 questions - 20 marks
      • General Awareness – 20 questions - 20 marks
      • Quantitative Aptitude – 20 questions - 20 marks
      • Economic & Social Issues (with focus on Rural India) – 40 questions - 40 marks
      • Agriculture & Rural Development (with focus on Rural India) - 40 questions- 40 marks
      • Total Marks : 200
    • Paper-I - General English: (Descriptive - online through key board)
      • The paper will have descriptive questions carrying 100 marks.
      • Duration: 1 ½ hrs
      • The analytical and drafting abilities of the candidate shall be assessed through the Descriptive Paper on General English comprising essay writing, comprehension, report writing, paragraph writing & letter writing. Essay (40 Marks), Precis (20 Marks), Questions on the Precis para (20 Marks), Report / Letter Writing (20 Marks).
    • Phase II – Main Examination will be online and will be a mix of MCQ and descriptive pattern.
      • Paper–II (MCQ): i) for posts as at (i) in Table I - Economic & Social Issues and  Agriculture & Rural Development (with focus on rural India)  ii) for posts as at (ii) to (x) in Table I : Paper on related discipline Duration: 1 ½ hrs. – 100 Marks
    • Phase III – Interview
      • Applicants qualifying in the Phase-II Examination and securing sufficiently high rank in merit shall be short-listed for interview.
      • Marks for Interview : 25 Marks
