Application Fee: The Application fee can be deposited online, while filling the Application Form, by (1) Net Banking, (2) Debit/Credit Card Payment or offline, along with the printout of the Fee Challan Form, which will be generated after the First Page (Registration page) of the online Application Form has been submitted successfully, at: - HDFC Bank & Punjab Police Saanjh Kendras.

  • The following Application fees shall be charged:
    • General category candidates including Rs 400/- wards of Punjab Police Personnel and wards of Freedom Fighters
    • SC/ST/BC candidates Rs 100/-
    • Ex-Serviceman candidates No Fees

Selection process: Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in Written Examination, Physically Efficiency Test and Medical test. All the candidates whose applications are found satisfactory after scrutiny and who qualify the preliminary medical test / drug test / dope test (if any) will be eligible to participate in the physical efficiency test consisting of the following events:
  • For Male:
    • 800 meters race to be completed in 4 minutes (only one chance)
    • Long Jump (3 chances) 9 ft.
    • High jump (3 chances) 3 ft.
  • For Female:
    • 400 meters race to be completed in 2 minutes (only one chance)
    • Long Jump (3 chances) 6 ft.
    • High jump (3 chances) 2 ½ ft.
  • Note: A candidate must qualify in all the above 3 events. Failure to qualify in any one of the above events of PET will render the candidate as disqualified.
  • For Ex-servicemen:
    • 800 meter walk/run to be completed in 6 minutes.

UPSC NDA / NA Selection Process

  • The SSB procedure consists of two stage Selection process - stage I and stage II. Only those candidates who clear the stage I are permitted to appear for stage II. The details are:
    • Stage I comprises of Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests are Picture Perception Description Test (PP&DT). The candidates will be shortlisted based on combination of performance in OIR Test and PP&DT. 
    • Stage II Comprises of Interview, Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests and the Conference. These tests are conducted over 4 days. The details of these tests are given on the website joinindianarmy.nic.in. 
  • The personality of a candidate is assessed by three different assessors viz. The Interviewing Officer (IO), Group Testing Officer (GTO) and the Psychologist. There are no separate weightage for each test. The mks are allotted by assessors only after taking into consideration the performance of the candidate holistically in all the test. In addition, marks for Conference are also allotted based on the initial performance of the Candidate in the three techniques and decision of the Board. All these have equal weightage.

UPSC NDA/NA Exam Pattern

  • There are two papers with objective type questions:
    • Mathematics: 120 Questions & 300 Marks
    • General Ability Test: 150 Questions & 600 Marks
    • Total Marks: 900
    • Duration:  2 hours 30 minutes
  • SSB Test/Interview: 900 Marks
  • The papers in both the subjects consist of objective type questions only. General Ability Test paper is divided into two parts - Part A and Part B. Part A has 50 English questions and Part B has 100 General Knowledge questions.
  • Negative Marking: There is penalty for wrong answers in the Objective Type Question Papers.

Certificates in original issued by the Principals of the Institutions are also acceptable in cases where Boards/Universities have not yet issued certificates. Certified true copies/photostate copies of such certificates will not be accepted. 
  • In exceptional cases the Commission may treat a candidate, who does not possess any of the qualifications prescribed in this rule as educationally qualified provided that he possesses qualifications, the standard of which in the opinion of the Commission, justifies his admission to the examination.

OR Passed Three years Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile / Computer Science / Instrumentation Technology / Information Technology) from a Government recognized Polytechnic institute with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in diploma course (or in Intermediate / Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Diploma Course).
