IBPS PO 2026-27 Eligibility Criteria
Nationality / Citizenship
- A candidate must be either - (i) a Citizen of India or (ii) a subject of Nepal or (iii) a subject of Bhutan or (iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

Educational Qualification
- A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognised by the Govt. Of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. The candidate must possess valid Mark-sheet / Degree Certificate that he/ she is a graduate on the day he / she registers and indicate the percentage of marks obtained in Graduation while registering online.
Age Limit (as of July 1, 2026):
- 20 to 30 years. You must have been born between July 2, 1996, and July 1, 2006 (both dates inclusive). Standard age relaxations apply for SC/ST, OBC, and PwBD categories.
Application Fee
- Rs. 850 /- (inclusive of GST) for all others
- Rs. 175/- (inclusive of GST) for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.

- The official IBPS PO recruitment selection process relies on a three-stage structure featuring the Online Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, and Personal Interview.
IBPS CRP PO/MT -XVI Exam Pattern
- To secure a CRP PO/MT-XVI vacancy, candidates must successfully clear the following stages:
- Stage 1: Online Preliminary Examination (Qualifying)
- English Language: 30 Questions and 30 Maximum Marks
- Quantitative Aptitude: 35 Questions and 30 Maximum Marks
- Reasoning Ability: 35 Questions and 40 Maximum Marks
- Total Marks: 100
- Time Duration: 60 Minutes
- Negative Marking: 0.25 marks are deducted for every incorrect answer.
- Status: Qualifying in nature; marks scored here do not count toward the final merit list.
- Stage 2: Main Examination
- Candidates who clear the Prelims will face the newly updated Main Examination. The objective questions have increased from 145 to 170, the Awareness section has been expanded, and the Descriptive test now features an Essay and Comprehension (replacing Letter Writing).
- Reasoning & Computer Aptitude: 40 Questions and 60 Marks
- General/Economy/Banking/Digital Awareness: 50 Questions and 60 Marks
- English Language: 40 Questions and 20 Marks
- Data Analysis & Interpretation: 40 Questions and 60 Marks
- Total Marks: 200
- Time Duration: 160 minute
- English Descriptive (Essay & Comprehension): 2 Questions and 25 Marks
- Note: Descriptive Paper may be evaluated by an automated scoring mechanism for identifying features related to writing proficiency. This scoring mechanism is duly validated and evaluates proficiency of test takers.
- Stage 3: Personality Test
- Candidates who qualify in the Main examination will be called for a Personality Test (self-report). Personality Profile of the candidates will be placed before the Interview panel. The Personality Test will be non-qualifying in nature. However, appearing in the Personality Test will be mandatory for being eligible for appearing for the Interview process. Personality test may be conducted through proctored mode or at identified examination centres, as decided by IBPS.
- Stage 4: Interview
- Conducted by Participating Banks and coordinated by the Nodal Bank.
- Total marks: 100
- Minimum qualifying: 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD)
- Weightage — Main Exam: Interview = 80: 20
- The final merit list is based on the combined score from the Main Exam (80%) and Interview (20%).
