  • Age Limit for GATE exam: There are no age criteria.

  • General / OBC / EWS Candidates: ₹ 2000 (Regular Period) / ₹ 2500 (Extended Period)

    Name of Examination: Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)

    Educational qualification: 
    • Bachelor’s degree holders in Engineering/ Technology (4 years after 10+2 or 3 years after Diploma in Engineering/Technology) and those who are in the final year of such programs.
    • Bachelor’s degree holders of Architecture (Five years course) and those who are in the final year of such programs.
    • Bachelor’s degree holders of Four-year program in Science (B.S.) and those who are in the final year of such programs.
    • Master’s degree holders in any branch of Science / Mathematics / Statistics/Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final year of such programs.
    • Holders of Four-year Integrated Master’s degree (Post-B.Sc.) in Engineering/Technology and those in the second or higher year of such programs.
    • Holders of Five-year Integrated Master’s degree or Dual Degree in Engineering / Technology and those in the fourth or higher year of such programs.
    • Holders of Five-year integrated M.Sc. or Five year integrated B.Sc./M.Sc. degree and those in the final year of such programs. 
    • Candidates with qualifications obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies recognized by UPSC/AICTE as equivalent to B.E./B.Tech. Those who have completed section A of AMIE or equivalent of such professional courses are also eligible.

    Application Fee: Rs. 1500 for all other candidates, Rs. 750/- for the SC / ST / PwD category candidates; Rs. 750 for women candidates. The application fee has to be paid only online either through e-challan or through net banking.

    Admit Card: The Admit Card can only be downloaded from the GATE portal from 5th January 2017 (tentative).

    Selection process:
    • GATE - 2016: The desirous and eligible candidates having the essential qualification for the advertised posts are required to apply and appear in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2016. GATE 2016 Details & Apply Online 
    • The candidates possessing the requisite qualification for the advertised posts is required to apply and appear in the GATE-2016 subjects. Essential Qualification & GATE Subject with Code under Eligibility Criteria.
    • The GATE-2016 Score in the subject mentioned against the posts of ONGC will be considered by ONGC for shortlisting the candidates for the further selection process of Personal Interview as per the criteria decided by the Management.
    • The final merit list shall be prepared based on the weightages assigned to various parameters as per following

      • Interview: 15 Marks

    Indian Institute of Science (IISC) published notification for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), 2016. Online forms for GATE examination will be started from 01 September at official website. Admission to Postgraduate Courses (Master’s and Doctoral) in the country, with MHRD and other Government Scholarships / Assistantships in Engineering / Technology / Architecture / Science, is open to those who qualify in GATE You can view official notification by following link.

    Name of Examination: Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)

    Educational Qualification: 
    • Bachelor’s degree holders in Engineering/ Technology (4 years after 10+2 or 3 years after Diploma in Engineering/Technology) and those who are in the final year of such programs.
    • Bachelor’s degree holders of Architecture (Five years course) and those who are in the final year of such programs.
    • Bachelor’s degree holders of Four-year program in Science (B.S.) and those who are in the final year of such programs.
    • Master’s degree holders in any branch of Science / Mathematics / Statistics/Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final year of such programs.
    • Holders of Four-year Integrated Master’s degree (Post-B.Sc.) in Engineering/Technology and those in the second or higher year of such programs.
    • Holders of Five-year Integrated Master’s degree or Dual Degree in Engineering / Technology and those in the fourth or higher year of such programs.
    • Holders of Five-year integrated M.Sc. or Five year integrated B.Sc./M.Sc. degree and those in the final year of such programs. 
    • Candidates with qualifications obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies recognized by UPSC/AICTE as equivalent to B.E./B.Tech. Those who have completed section A of AMIE or equivalent of such professional courses are also eligible.

    GATE 2016 Exam: The Examinations for all the papers will be conducted as Computer Based Tests only. The Date of exam Between 30th January 2016 and 7th February 2016 (On Saturdays and Sundays). The exact schedule will be given on the GATE 2016 website.

    Validity: The GATE 2016 Score will be valid for 03 Years Only from the date of announcement of Reults (from 19th March 2016).

    Application Fee: Rs. 750/- for the SC / ST / PwD category candidates; Rs. 750 for women candidates; Rs. 1500 for all other candidates. The application fee has to be paid only online either through e-challan or through net banking.

    IIT Kharagpur published official answer keys for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), 2014 examination. GATE 2014 Question papers and the corresponding answer keys are now available for download. Please note that in GATE 2014, the examination for all the papers was conducted online (computer based test). It may be noted that numerous random combinations of the shuffled sequence of questions were displayed on the candidate console during the examination. The one shown here is only one possible sequence for which the answer keys are provided along side. Please note that the SESSION and SET numbers wherever they appear are for internal consumption only.
