AFCAT 2019 Eligibility Criteria:

AFCAT 2019 Educational Qualification

  • Flying Branch: Graduation Degree in Any Stream with 60% marks have passed Physics &  Maths in 10+2 Level or BE/B.Tech Degree who have Attained Minimum 60% marks in Aggregate in all papers.
  • Ground Duty Technical Branch: Aeronautical Engineering Electronics – (10+2)intermediate minimum 6% marks in Physics & math’s & Minimum 4 years Graduation/Integrated PG Degree in Engineering/Technology
  • Aeronautical engineering mechanical: candidates with Minimum 60% Marks Each in physics and Mathematics at 10+2 Level & 4 years Engineering/Technology Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent degree.
  • Ground Duty Non-technical: Graduation Degree in Any Stream/Commerce with 60% marks minimum/Post Graduation degree in Any Stram with 50% marks minimum.
  • NCC Special entry: NCC Air wing Senior Division ‘C’ certificate & other Details  as per flying branch Eligibility 

AFCAT 2019 Age limit

  • Flying Branch: 20 to 24 years as on 01 July 2020 i.e. born between 02 July 1996 to 01 July 2000 (both dates inclusive). Upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable upto 26 years i.e. born between 02 July 1994 to 01 July 2000 (both dates inclusive).
  • Ground Duty (Technical/Non-Technical) Branches: 20 to 26 years as on 01 July 2020 i.e. born between 02 July 1994 to 01 Jul 2000 (both dates inclusive).

AFCAT 2019 Application Fee

  • Online testing will be conducted for AFCAT entry at various centers. Candidates registering for AFCAT entry will have to pay an amount of Rs. 250/- as examination fee. However, candidates registering for NCC Special entry are not required to pay. Details of conduct, examination centers and mode of payment are available in the notification.

AFCAT 2019 Selection Process:

  • All applicants whose applications are submitted by due date will be called for AFCAT test at one of the examination centres mentioned at para 14 (b). Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) will also be conducted for Ground Duty (Technical) branch along with AFCAT. AFCAT will be for two hours and will contain multiple choice questions on verbal ability, numerical ability, reasoning, general awareness and military aptitude. EKT would be for 45 minutes and conducted immediately after AFCAT. It is mandatory for the candidates opting for Ground Duty (technical) branch to pass both AFCAT & EKT. Candidates who are short-listed on the basis of AFCAT/ EKT(AFCAT 2018) will be called for further testing at one of the Air Force Selection Boards (AFSBs) at Dehradun, Mysore, Gandhinagar or Varanasi. Candidates who opt for flying branch can opt for Dehradun, Mysore and Varanasi only.

  • Eligible candidates are to register online through separate tabs available for AFCAT Entry/NCC Special Entry/Meteorology Entry. Candidates eligible for one/ more entries are to register separately in each entry.
