IIM Professor Eligibility:

Education Qualification:

Assistant Professor: Ph.D. or equivalent in appropriate discipline with first class in the preceding degree with excellent academic record throughout. Minimum 3 years’ teaching/industry/post-doctoral research experience (experience during Ph.D. will not be counted). Those who have recently submitted Ph.D. thesis or have shortfall in required work experience can apply for appointment as Assistant Professor on Contract.
Associate Professor: Ph.D. or equivalent in appropriate discipline with first class in the preceding degree with excellent academic record throughout. A minimum of 6 years teaching/industry/research experience, of which at least 3 years’ should be at the level of Assistant Professor (experience during Ph.D. will not be counted).
Professor: Ph. D. or equivalent in appropriate discipline with first class in the preceding degree with excellent academic record throughout. A minimum of 10 years’ experience of which at least 4 years should be at the level of Associate Professor (experience during Ph.D. will not be counted).
Professor of Practice: Ph.D. desirable, but not mandatory for candidates with exceptional experience and expertise. Post Graduate Degree/Diploma in Management (or equivalent professional qualification) with at least 60% marks from reputed Academic Institutions in India or abroad and with not less than 15 years of managerial or professional experience. Candidates should have worked in senior management positions for at least 10 years. Individuals who have demonstrated exceptional abilities in the practice of management in corporate field, public or private sector organizations at senior leadership positions for a minimum period of 10 years. Candidates with non-business degrees such as Master’s in Psychology, Master’s in Social Work, Chartered Accountant, etc. would also be considered. Expectation from Selected Candidates: Teaching in different programme as per the norms of the Institute, publishing in high-quality academic journals, promoting industry-institute linkages through consulting assignments/MDPs, academic administration and involvement in placement activities.
