Name of the Post: Deputy Librarian

Job Profile:

The incumbent shall plan, manage, organize and control the Acquisition, Lending, Periodicals and all other activities of the library. S/he shall supervise the workflow in different areas and plan book acquisition in the perspective of Institute’s mission statement. S/he shall prepare and manage a library budget. S/he shall disseminate information and provide support, including bibliographic to members of the academic community. She/he shall organize orientation programmes, ‘Know Your Library’ for students and visitors. 

Educational Qualification:

• The incumbent should have a Masters’ degree in Library and Information Science from reputed Institutes and Universities with at least 55% marks and consistently good academic record. Bachelors Degree in Computer Applications is preferred. M.Phil in Library Science / Information Science is desirable. Minimum five years of post qualification experience in a leading and reputed Academic Institution /Library/ Research Centre is required. Professional commitment, experience in computerization of library and working knowledge of Libsys (Library software) is essential.
• The incumbent should posses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, accurate and methodical approach and openness to new forms of Information Technology.
