Eligibility
- Educational Qualification:
- Tindel: Eight standard pass (Metric also eligible). 10 years service on sea going vessel with 5 years experience in independent handling of mechanized craft fitted with auxiliary sails.
- Senior Deckhand: Eight standard pass. 5 years service on sea going vessel with two years in helmsman and seamanship work.
- Seaman: 10th Class (Metric) Pass or equivalent. 03 years experience in sea going mechanized vessel with two years in helmsman and seamanship work.
- Greaser: X Class / Metric pass or equivalent. 03 years experience in sea going mechanized vessel on main and auxiliary machinery maintenance.
Selection Process
- The selection of the candidates shall be based on written examination and swimming test, which consists of jumping from the Board and swimming 100 meters. The department reserves the right to prescribe additional physical fitness tests and any other test as required. The selection of the candidates shall be subject to medical fitness / police verification.
